Riding A Honda Ruckus

Editor: hawk

This guide describes the exhilaration that a person gets when riding a Honda Ruckus scooter.

Introduction

There are times in your life when owning a scooter instead of a car just makes sense — especially with the price of gas as high as it is right now.

The Honda Ruckus (starting at $2,300) has just the right mix of toughness and hipness to make it our absolute favorite. It has a tubular steel frame, oversized double headlights, tough off-road like tires, and a 49cc four-stroke engine with automatic transmission and electric starter.

The Ruckus comes in all-black or black with silver and gray camouflage. And since it's a lightweight scooter, you can ride around for weeks with hardly any gas money — and since it's Honda, it will last forever so you can sell it to your little brother when you're done with it.

Overview

Here's a picture of the 2006 camo Honda Ruckus, which happens to be my favorite Ruckus made.

I've had my Ruckus for about one year. I have never had so much fun. It reminds me of the old TOTE GOATS of the 60s. I live in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains so there are plenty of dirt roads to explore within a short distance of my home.

It impresses me with the rocky hill climbs and does well sliding around corners. It does well in the fresh snow too! I've learned how to "bunny hop" it over potholes--That's a blast. Off road riding I'm averaging 90 mpg, on road 100 mpg.

Riding my Ruckus with my kids is one of my favorite things to do. Anyway, if you don't have one, you're missing out!!! I love It!!
