Uploading Images

In order to use images in your guides or other pages, you must first upload them to the site. Note that you must be signed in to your account to upload images.

1. Click the Upload link under Tools in the left navigation sidebar.
2. Click the Browse button and locate the image file on your computer.
3. If necessary, change the Destination filename to something descriptive. (Unless you rename the image here, the site will use the filename from your hard drive.)
4. Enter a summary of the image, if desired. In some cases you may wish to give the viewer a little background about the image. This summary will only be visible if a user clicks on the image itself. When an image that resides on Overstock.com Guides is clicked, the viewer is taken to the image page, showing the summary, history and a list of any pages that link to it.
5. Click the Upload button. The image now resides on its own page within the "Image:" namespace.

Using Images

Once you have uploaded an image, you can use it in your guide or other pages by using the following format:

[[Image:imagename.format]]

Example:

[[Image:omuse.jpg]]

Will look like:

To use an image as a link to another page, use the following format:

<iimg>[[PageToLinkTo]]![[Image:imagename.format|Image Info]]</iimg>

Example:

<iimg>[[Special:Allpages]]![[Image:omuse.jpg|See All Overstock.com Guides]]</iimg>

Will look and function like this:

(Hover your mouse over the image to view info, then click to verify the destination.)

Resizing an image: If you upload a larger image to the site, you can resize it in your guide or other pages to save space. That way you can have a smaller version show up in your guide and if the user wants to see the larger version, they can simply click on the image.

The following are examples of how to limit the size of an image in your guide to 150 pixels or 75 pixels:
